FAQs
What is Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy (CBH)?
CBH is a proven, integrative approach to managing anxiety and stress. It blends hypnosis, cognitive-behavioral techniques, mindfulness, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy to help you feel calmer, more relaxed, and in control of your thoughts.

Sessions include a mix of discussion, practical exercises, and guided hypnosis or mindfulness techniques. Each session is goal-focused and tailored to your specific needs, providing you with effective tools to support lasting change.
What is Hypnosis?
Hypnosis is simply a state of deep focus and openness to positive suggestions. It’s a bit like getting lost in a good book or daydream—it can feel very relaxing or like being absorbed in your imagination. But don’t worry, you’re always in control. You can choose to accept the suggestions I will offer as your therapist, but if anything doesn’t feel right for you, your mind will naturally dismiss it. Hypnosis is a collaborative process designed to help you feel more at ease and open to positive change.
Will I remain in control?
Hypnosis is not mind control—you are always in charge. You can’t be made to do anything against your will. In fact, for hypnosis to work, you need to be open to the positive suggestions made by your therapist, and actively engage with them.

When practiced professionally and responsibly, hypnosis is completely safe. And don’t worry—no one has ever been “stuck” in hypnosis!
Stage hypnosis for entertainment is very different from clinical hypnotherapy. Unfortunately, it can create misconceptions that might discourage people from exploring its real benefits. So, if you’ve seen hypnosis on TV, take it with a big pinch of salt—it’s designed for show, not therapy!
How many sessions will be required?
On average, clients have 5-8 sessions, but some may require more or fewer. Do get in touch to discuss your individual requirements.
Is this the right type of therapy for me/my child?
I know it can feel confusing when you’re looking for a therapist to discover that there’s different types of therapists — but research across all therapies strongly suggests that the most important factor in predicting therapeutic outcomes is the therapeutic relationship.

This means if you feel like we share the same vibe, you resonate with what I share, then there is a strong chance we’ll be a good fit.
This is exactly why I offer a FREE 30 minute consultation call so you can be completely informed before making this investment.
I'm nervous about starting, is this normal?

This is a huge reason why I offer a FREE 30 minute consultation call so we can chat first, and then you make a pressure-free decision on whether I’m the best therapist for you/your child with confidence and reassurance.
